Forbes 400 and what we can learn

The Forbes 400 is out today. Taking a look at the top ten, what jumps out at you?

See it yet?

That's right, the top five names are self-made. People who didn't inherit money, but who made their own, the hard way. Interesting that the left tells us that the richest people don't deserve their wealth, because they didn't do anything to earn it...and yet, the richest people in America did just that: earn it.

And looking at the next five, they're all just one generation away from the guy who earned it all: Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart. Say what you will about Wal-Mart's current practices, but you can't deny that Sam started with very little and managed to turn it into a multi-billion dollar enterprise. Then he did what any good father would do: he left it to his kids.

Keep this in mind the next time someone tells you the rich are just rich because they inherited it, and that they don't deserve their money. The richest people did earn it, themselves, without government handouts or special considerations.
